luhanri's technique involves starting with references, often photos she's taken on her travels, before letting intuition take over. "once i begin painting, i follow my intuition and forget about the references. i do plan every painting, considering the composition, colour, and other elements," she explains, adding, “however, the outcome is never exactly what i expect. i get lost in the process, and everything changes with spur-of-the-moment decisions.”

this spontaneous process means that each piece is unique, crafted with a blend of acrylics and oils to create soft, muted tones that enhance the serene feel of her work.

“i usually start with a thin layer of acrylics and then switch to oils. i prefer to use soft, muted colours as it strengthens the serene atmosphere in my work and complements the hidden messages i weave into it. i love creating unplanned details in certain areas with multiple layers, while leaving other areas unfinished with fewer details.”
